I'm composer, guitarist, and producer based in Querétaro, México; I was born one year before Super Mario so I've been a gamer all my life. I am a huge fan of Koji Kondo and Nintendo games. Currently, my primary interest as a composer is writing music for media, especially film and videogame scoring even though I just started working in such projects this year. I recently scored a short film called "Cycles" from some guys in Florida and am working in writing the music for a documentary series here in Mexico called "Viaje al Hilo".
I used Presonus Studio One as my DAW. Reason and Kontakt as instruments within it. I recorded through a Roland GW-7 workstation hooked to my Presonus Firestudio. The orchestral sounds are from EWQLSO Platinum XP an the electronic sounds come from both Sonic Refills 2.0 and my own patches. Used Presonus ProEQ and Compressor for the processing. I started out with the lead melody and a nice little progression I teach my beginner guitar students. The rest was just a matter of arranging ambiances and adding a bridge with an odd meter to give it a little turn.
The soundtrack to indie game “Cottage Quest” is a marvel of pointillist synths and chiptune influence—charming and catchy all at once. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 6, 2023
If the Phantom of the Opera wrote video game music, it might sound something like the sweeping, stately songs on “Place of Honor.” Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 25, 2023
